Welcoming

New Patients!

Meet our Team

Our greatest asset is our team!

Christie,

Registered Dental Hygienist

Christie was born and raised in Cambridge, MD and received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2000. Christie has been the hygienist at Krause Smiles since 2004! She resides in Salisbury with her tech-savvy husband and her pampered cat, Scarlett (who may be getting a life jacket). Our patients may be surprised to know she LOVES all things Elvis and is an avid lover of boating, hence Scarlett's life jacket. She can make amazing cakes and prides herself on her love of early prevention and positive oral hygiene in even the youngest of her patients.

Katie,

Front Office Coordinator

When you walk into the office, Katie is the first face you'll see, ready to greet you with a big smile (and maybe even a high five). Although she was born and raised in Laurel, DE, she graduated from Delmar High School (Go Wildcats!). She now lives in Gumboro with her furry babies—seriously, she’d rescue every animal on the planet if she could.  When she’s not at the front desk, Katie can be found coaching cheer (always spreading that Delmar Pride) or planning her next Disney adventure (because, yes, she’s a self-proclaimed Disney adult). She’s also a huge fan of *The Great British Baking Show* and loves to bake along, though her creations are not as pretty as the show’s perfect pastries. She is also an earring enthusiast with a pair for every occasion. During the summer, you can catch her at the pool or a lazy river, floating her cares away. Katie is super close with her family, so much so that you might meet her mom on a surprise visit (don’t worry, she’s fantastic).  Even though Katie is a homebody, she is most at home making sure every patient leaves with a smile and striving to keep the office running smoothly!

Ava,

Patient Care Extraordinaire

Ava has been a dental assistant at Krause Smiles since 2024, and she’s the team’s go-to expert on all things fishy—she knows every fish in the office by name and keeps them well-fed and happy! Ava loves welcoming hygiene patients and making every visit as comfortable as a day at the beach (one of her favorite places, by the way!).

When she’s not in the office, Ava is likely packing her bags for her next travel adventure, painting something beautiful, or getting lost in a good videogame. Fun fact: She’s pretty sure the fish are judging her vacation choices, but they’ve yet to speak up about it. Ava’s mix of creativity, humor, and care keeps both patients and fish smiling!

Kayla,

Registered Dental Assistant

I'm a dental assistant who's all about good vibes and even better smiles. I started out in orthodontics, where I spent two years helping patients build confidence in their smiles, and now I'm in a pediatric office making sure kids feel comfortable, relaxed, and maybe even have a little fun at the dentist. As a mom to my 4-year-old son, I know how important it is for kids to feel safe and understood, so I always bring a calm, friendly energy to every appointment. My goal is simple: help every kid leave smiling and feeling proud of themselves. Outside of work, I'm either at the beach, fishing, or cooking for my family-basically wherever the good vibes are.
